Pair of african fertility sculptures, namji dolls, cameroon. African wooden dolls. Tribal art. Two dolls from the namji ethnic group. These are likely a man and a woman. Wooden sculpture. The back of one of the feet has been glued back on. Fertility dolls, reserved for women, are richly adorned. The doll represents the child everyone wishes to have, while also being a "fetish doll for women" meant to ensure their fertility. It therefore has the power to fulfill the woman by bringing her birth. It is also reported that women without children or without milk touch or squeeze the dolls of fulfilled women to make their wishes come true. Since the birth of a child weighs heavily on a couple's status, psychological blocks often arise. A childless woman is considered an imperfect creature. The doll is a placebo device that allows this unblocking. Height: 19 cm - 7.48 " width: 8.5 cm - 3.34 " depth: 4 cm - 1.57 " total weight: 500 g.
