Antique corner armchair in Italian oak in Renaissance style

Antique corner armchair in carved oak, Italian made, entirely in Renaissance style, second half of the 19th century, around 1880. This is a replica of an older model. The seat is covered in red velvet and the cushion is filled with horsehair. A putti is depicted at the centre of the base. The armrests are adorned with lion heads and the backrest features bird heads. The whole piece is richly decorated with acanthus leaves, which attests to its high quality for the period. The armchair shows a beautiful patina due to its age and use. One leg is slightly deformed, another leg has a significant chip, and there are signs of previous woodworm activity. The armchair is "in its juice" (literally "in good condition") and is in its original state, still very robust and solid. See the photos for more details!
