OIL PAINTING ON INSULATED PANEL, TUSCAN LANDSCAPE WITH BARN, SIGNED BY FRANCESCO MARIA PIERI, LABRONICO, 1960s/1970s. SIZE 50X35, EXCELLENT CONDITION, UNFRAMED. BIBLIOGRAPHY: Francesco Maria Pieri (Castagneto Carducci 1941 - Livorno 1989). He worked in Livorno for many years and was part of the Labronico group from a young age. Deeply rooted in the landscape, he created it with force, vibrant and broad brushstrokes, and a careful study of perspective and light. He sensitively captured the colors of the seasons, the red and burnt tones, the work of man and the silence of the farms. Landscapes and seascapes, but also still lifes and compositions with rural objects and fruit, are painted with an almost hyperrealist technique. Speaking of his art, he expressed himself thus: "In Livorno, I learned to paint the walls of Venezia (a district of Livorno), the boats, the sky, breathing the southwest wind, searching among the rocks for the color of the sea, the shimmer of a wave. And in Livorno, I love to exhibit my paintings, as if by a love that binds me – me, the earth – to the sea and its treasures. And for Livorno, ancient, authentic, and popular, I would like it to be a tribute – modest certainly, but sincere and heartfelt – to my passion and my work…" He has exhibited in several Italian cities and his works are included in numerous national and international collections. Reviews of his paintings have been published in newspapers and periodicals, both Tuscan and national. In the mid-1980s, he stayed in Hawaii, where he painted and presented his works in exhibitions, achieving great success.
