This antique pine wood sideboard with two panelled doors and a central pull ring is a domestic piece from northern China around 1930. It originates from northern China, from the late Qing period or early Republic, where pine was the most commonly used wood for domestic storage furniture. Two-door sideboards were the most common storage pieces in northern Chinese homes during the Qing Dynasty and the Republican period. Their horizontal format and storage capacity made them essential in dining rooms and bedrooms. The case is made of solid pine with mortise and tenon joinery. The two doors feature a moulded panel with a curved section, each with a central pull ring. The corners are reinforced with vertical moulding. The structure rests on short feet integrated into the base. The pine has developed a warm patina with toasted and golden tones, with the grain visible across the entire surface. The wear is consistent and in line with prolonged domestic use. Details. Dimensions: Length 134 cm – Depth 40 cm – Height 73 cm. Style: Qing Dynasty.
