Large ancient jobana from Fes in polychrome faience, Morocco 20th century.

Very beautiful and large traditional jobbana from Fès, Morocco, in polychrome earthenware, entirely hand-decorated and bearing a signature or monogram under the base. Antique, probably from the first half of the 20th century, circa 1930-1960. This large covered pot, traditionally called a jobbana and notably used as a butter pot, features a significant rounded belly topped with a wide conical lid with a turquoise handle. Rich floral and stylised plant decoration arranged in reserves, painted in a beautiful palette of cobalt blue, turquoise, yellow, old pink, and brown on a white background. A very fine artisanal work from Fès, particularly decorative and of large size. 28cm high with the lid, 23cm maximum diameter, 14.5cm high for the pot alone. Very good overall condition, with no cracks or chips noted. Wear to the glaze, particularly on the lid handle and the edges. Some irregularities and retouches to the decoration and glaze, presumably related to artisanal production or firing, discreet and without impact on the very fine overall appearance of the piece. Approximately 2kg.
