This lithograph “The Enchantment of Hours - The Mist” is signed by Henri Rivière and has a red stamp in the bottom right corner. The work is authentic and old. Regarding its condition, there are very slight ink marks in the margin, a slight crease on the left, and small stains. On the lithograph, there is a small lack of ink in the foliage and some small stains. The lithograph is very fresh in colour, and once framed, most of the defects will be less visible. We have taken a maximum of photos of the defects so that you can assess the condition. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) was a French painter, engraver, and illustrator. He began his career with drawing and then with soft-ground etching, specifically aquatint, in 1882. At the same time, he started a career as a director and set designer in 1886, for shadow theatre at the Chat Noir cabaret, enhancing performances by creating innovative coloured backdrops. He then dedicated himself exclusively to painting and engraving, establishing himself in the history of etching, printmaking, wood engraving, lithography, and watercolour (he painted around a thousand watercolours).
