2 Old Prints / Lithographs. Île d'Oléron by Louis Lessieux

Superb pair of old prints (colour art lithographs) showcasing the landscapes of Île d'Oléron, signed by the artist and his master engraver-publisher. Artist Painter: Louis-Ernest LESSIEUX (1874-1938), a famous painter and illustrator from La Cotinière on Oléron Island. His works beautifully capture the unique light of the "Luminous Island." His original signature is printed directly in the matrix of the drawing. Engraver & Art Publisher: The handwritten pencil signature beneath each print is that of Henri LESUEUR. As a renowned master engraver and lithographer (often awarded or associated with engraving workshops/art publishers), he guaranteed and hand-signed the print run of these collector's pieces, certifying their authenticity and quality of execution. Pencil inscriptions (on the front): "Fishing Boats Oléron" and "Village of Oléron" Verso: Blank (no inscription) Dimensions: 16 X 24.5 cm. Superb vintage condition. These two pieces have been perfectly preserved. Always kept protected under laminated sheets (colours remain vibrant, paper not yellowed).
