Rare set of French garden furniture attributed to René Malaval, model Radar, consisting of a table and two matching armchairs, France, 1950s. Made of painted perforated metal and steel tubing, the set features a particularly graphic and sculptural construction: perforated backs and seats, curved tubular armrests, and a rectangular table with a central opening for a parasol. One of the great interests of this set lies in its very beautiful old polychrome patina, with layers of blue, yellow, red-brown, and areas of surface oxidation. This patina has been intentionally preserved to maintain the character and authenticity of the pieces. Heavy and solid construction. Very good overall structural condition, with paint wear, signs of use, oxidation, and surface irregularities consistent with age and outdoor use. Sold only as a set of 3 pieces. Designer / attribution: René Malaval. Model: Radar. Manufacturer: Bloc Métal. Origin: France. Period: 1950s. Material: perforated metal, steel tubing. Style: French design / Mid-Century / Brutalist. Dimensions. Table: 78 × 59 × H 70 cm. Weight: 9.2 kg. Armchairs: H 81–82 × W 56 × D 55 cm. Seat height: 42 cm. Weight: 7.9 kg each.
