Vintage chair in steel wire on sled base, 1970s

Steel wire, a sled base, and nearly 60 years of character: it's impossible to replicate such a patina. We can immediately tell when a piece has potential, and these vintage steel wire chairs are a perfect example. Raw, functional, and full of personality, they were designed to be used and to improve with age. Their sled base, combined with the open steel wire structure, gives them a very graphic industrial look while providing a slightly flexible seat. Originally, this type of chair was often used outdoors, particularly on terraces, in holiday villages, or public spaces. The armrests with wooden details enhance their retro character typical of the 60s and 70s. A design that today finds its place on a terrace, in a restaurant, or at the heart of a bold interior project. Upcycling is part of our DNA. These chairs are currently undergoing restoration: they are being sanded to regain their original colour, then carefully finished in our workshop to be ready for many more years of use. Good news: they can already be ordered and reserved before their return to the workshop. A visually light structure, yet extremely robust, fully controlled, restored in respect of the original design, and ready for a second life. Upcycling is not just a trend: it’s our way of giving character back to interiors.
