A charming and dreamy French hand-carved bed frame in a soft mustard yellow finish, featuring elegant floral cotton upholstery in shades of white, yellow, and blue. Beautifully crafted in the neoclassical Louis XVI style, it showcases spiral fluted columns, upholstered head and footboards, and foliate embellishments. The original aged soft mustard-yellow paint lends the piece a rich patina. The headboard and footboard are adorned with gracefully carved crests, flanked by classical column sides decorated with acanthus leaves. Carved rosettes accent the corners, while the bed stands on tapered, fluted Louis XVI legs. Measuring 181 cm in length and 123 cm in width, this bed differs from standard modern sizes due to its antique French origins. It serves perfectly as a daybed in its dimensions. The frame boasts excellent craftsmanship, remaining solid and sturdy. The finish is in good vintage condition, and while the upholstery shows some signs of use, it remains clean and full of character, ready for immediate use. Please note: The side of the bed that is supposed to stand against the wall is upholstered in plain grey fabric. Condition: Wear is consistent with age and use. In a good working condition, but does not contain slats or a mattress. Please keep in mind that in many cases we sell vintage and antique pieces. None of these pieces should be considered new or in perfect condition. All of our vintage products show the rich beauty and history of their life with the knocks and bumps of many years of use. We restore our pieces so they will be clean and in a good working condition. However we try to minimise restoration to keep every piece as original as possible. The physical object can differ slightly in colour from the object as presented online. We have made every effort to display colours accurately, but cannot guarantee that the pictures accurately reflect the colour of those goods in real life.
