Sculpted and painted day bed frame in the Louis XVI style from the 19th century.

A charming and dreamlike French bed frame, hand-carved with a soft mustard yellow finish, featuring an elegant floral cotton upholstery in shades of white, yellow, and blue. Beautifully crafted in the neoclassical Louis XVI style, it showcases spirally fluted columns, a tufted headboard and footboard, and leaf ornaments. The original patinated mustard yellow paint gives the piece a rich patina. The headboard and footboard are adorned with finely carved crests, framed by classic columned sides decorated with acanthus leaves. Carved rosettes highlight the corners, while the bed rests on tapered and fluted Louis XVI legs. Measuring 181 cm in length and 123 cm in width, this bed differs from standard modern sizes due to its ancient French origins. Its dimensions make it a perfect day bed. The frame exhibits excellent craftsmanship, remaining solid and robust. The finish is in good vintage condition, and although the upholstery shows some signs of wear, it remains clean and full of character, ready for immediate use. Please note: the side of the bed intended to be placed against the wall is upholstered in a plain grey fabric.
