German floor lamp in metal and plastic by Hesse Leuchten, 1960s.

This is a mid-century floor lamp made by the German manufacturer Hesse lights KG. The filigree steel structure is painted black. Instead of a traditional tripod, this lamp is equipped with four legs. The rectangular shade is structured from a type of plastic (Lystra) that is moulded. It simply rests on top of the structure. The upper edge of the diffuser is folded and sits in the support of the structure. The material of the screen is translucent and reveals the structure. The cable is routed through rings inside the leg and it is equipped with a foot switch. The verification is done through a presentation of the piece in the magazine 'Home Sweet Home' from March 1961.
