Mid-Century Modern Cocoon Floor Lamp by Friedel Wauer for Goldkant Leuchten, 1960s

Rare Mid-Century Modern Cocoon floor lamp by Goldkant Leuchten with a distinctive pattern on the lampshade. The drum-shaped lampshade is mounted on a slender metal stem and is height-adjustable, giving the lamp a constantly evolving look and lighting effect. The stem extends into a dark, textured base. The truly unique feature is the graphic pattern of the lampshade: a monochrome design of squares and circles that plays with light and shadow. A translucent white acrylic disc at the top of the lampshade serves as an anti-glare filter. The lamp is in very good condition with signs of use and a patina.
