Magnificent cake dish in polychrome cloisonné enamel on earthenware made by the historic Longwy enamel factory from 1798. Entirely hand-decorated according to the unique, historical, and traditional craftsmanship of the Longwy factory. Shape: F.3352. Decor: D.5670. The decor 5670 belongs to the cloisonné floral designs inspired by Persian and Oriental models that contributed to Longwy's success. It features: A very deep turquoise blue background; Flowers outlined in black enhanced with gold; A central medallion with birds and landscape; This style is typical of Longwy's post-war productions, which revisit creations from the 1920s-1930s while adapting them to the tastes of the 1950s. Dimensions: Length: 38.5 cm. Width: 18 cm. Height: approximately 2 cm. Weight: 843 g. Date: The typology of the stamp (signature known as "with 10 Lorraine crosses") and the decor used allow for a fairly precise dating of this dish between 1953 and 1958 (with a strong probability for 1955). Condition: The cake dish is in very good overall condition. It has just a small manufacturing defect noted in a photo and a few very minor enamel skips, all located at one of the two handles (see photos). For the rest, I would like to clarify that the other white marks you may sometimes see around the edge of the dish are merely reflections of light (the item has no cracks, chips, or flakes). Carefully packaged for safe shipping!.
