A magnificent solid oak sofa from the 1940s, optionally accompanied by two large matching armchairs. The sofa was entirely made in Denmark and has been carefully maintained by its previous owners, which is reflected in its excellent condition. The fabric shows signs of wear on the corners and edges, but there are no holes or tears, and it can be used as is. This sofa combines tradition and practicality, reflecting the mid-century Danish design emphasis on everyday comfort and durability. The wide solid oak structure catches the eye with its beautifully shaped armrests, turned legs, and crossbars that enhance the overall sturdiness. The backrest and seat are covered in a woven fabric in a soft palette of beige and muted greens, featuring a traditional Art Deco floral pattern. The seat remains firm and comfortable, with intact foam and internal webbing. The wood has been carefully cleaned and oiled, highlighting its natural hue and the small variations due to age. There are slight signs of wear consistent with age, but the piece is overall in excellent structural and visual condition. This sofa fits well in both modernist and traditional interiors, whether alone or as part of a set, and offers comfortable and durable seating with a simple and well-designed aesthetic, boasting over seventy years of character.
