"Student Chair" by Pierre Jeanneret, circa 1960

Writing chair known as the "Student Chair" or "Classroom Chair" by Pierre Jeanneret. Made of solid teak and woven cane, it features a double lateral base of an asymmetrical "compass" type (inverted Y), joined by two stretchers and a solid shelf beneath the seat. The flat backrest is slightly inclined, attached to the seat by two sturdy lower supports. The side shelf forming the writing surface is fixed. The cane is original. The chair is numbered on the front of the seat. In good condition, it retains its original patina without any alterations or repairs. It shows signs of wear on the cane of the seat, which is perforated. The cane on the backrest is in good condition without deterioration. On the upper edge of the backrest, a black felt pen inscription appears to indicate "P Jeanneret". The signs of time, the patina, and traces of use enhance the unique character of this piece. This chair is an authentic and original model. A certificate of expertise will be issued to the buyer.
