Glazed stoneware vase designed by Nils Thorsson for the Royal Copenhagen factory, a major figure in Danish ceramic design of the 20th century. Active for several decades within Royal Copenhagen, Nils Thorsson is recognised for his rich decorative language, inspired by nature, and for his architectural forms emblematic of the 1960s–1970s. This vase features a structured rectangular shape and a relief decoration of stylised birds and floral patterns, characteristic of Thorsson's work. The glazes in shades of brown, cream, and grey add depth and texture, enhancing the sculptural dimension of the piece. The underside is marked with the Royal Copenhagen stamp of three blue waves, certifying its authenticity and first quality. A decorative object of character, this vase fits perfectly into a Scandinavian, mid-century, or contemporary interior, standing alone as a statement piece or integrated into a larger composition.
