Nils thorsson baca vase for royal copenhagen, abstract design, 1960s. Beautiful piece of high-level danish craftsmanship, signed and numbered nils thorsson (1898-1975) He first appeared as an artist in 1925 when he exhibited a series of vases (the autumn series), which was rewarded with a gold medal at the world exhibition in paris. From 1930 he became artistic director of the aluminia factory (later royal copenhagen), and from 1949 he had artistic supervision of the stoneware department at the royal porcelain factory. Thorsson's work is represented at the copenhagen art museum, the royal institute of technology, the porcelain factory museum, the victoria museum of art and the museum of art.
