Kastor pendant by Jo Hammerborg for Fog & Mørup, 1969

The Kastor pendant represents one of Jo Hammerborg's most sculptural achievements for Fog & Mørup. Designed in 1969 during the golden age of Danish lighting design, this pendant features eight pressed copper shades arranged in a distinctive cascading formation. While the varnish could be removed and the copper polished to a bright finish, doing so would compromise the pendant's original condition and historical integrity. This Kastor pendant has been professionally restored to full working order. The fixture has been completely dismantled, with all components thoroughly cleaned and inspected. It has been rewired with premium gold twisted cloth flex, properly insulated where it passes through the copper components to meet contemporary safety standards while maintaining period-appropriate aesthetics.
