The Kastor pendant represents one of Jo Hammerborg's most sculptural achievements for Fog & Mørup. Designed in 1969 during the golden age of Danish lighting design, this pendant features eight pressed copper shades arranged in a distinctive cascading formation. Each shade is painted off-white on the interior to create a warm, diffused glow, while the exterior copper surfaces showcase the natural patina and character that only authentic vintage pieces possess. This example retains its original factory-applied clear coat varnish—a common practice by Fog & Mørup to reduce maintenance and preserve the copper finish. Where the varnish has naturally worn over the decades, beautiful patina has developed, adding depth and authenticity to the piece. While the varnish could be removed and the copper polished to a bright finish, doing so would compromise the pendant's original condition and historical integrity. This Kastor pendant has been professionally restored to full working order. The fixture has been completely dismantled, with all components thoroughly cleaned and inspected. It has been rewired with premium gold twisted cloth flex, properly insulated where it passes through the copper components to meet contemporary safety standards while maintaining period-appropriate aesthetics. Responsible worldwide shipping available. This pendant will be carefully packaged to ensure safe transit to collectors anywhere in the world. No makers mark which is normal for the period.
