Adjustable Brass "Dome" Pendant Light by Vereinigte Werkstätten München 60s

An exceptional and highly collectible mid-century modern German pendant light, attributed to the renowned Vereinigte Werkstätten für Kunst im Handwerk (Munich Workshops for Arts and Crafts), dating from the 1960s. After World War II, the Vereinigte Werkstätten München evolved into a leading manufacturer of high-quality furniture and interior furnishings. Particularly from the 1950s through the 1970s, the company shaped modern interior design with elegant, craftsmanship-focused lighting and home accessories made from premium materials such as brass, glass, and acrylic. Today, these masterfully engineered pieces are considered true icons of German mid-century design. This large and heavy ceiling light features a striking, architectural spherical shape crafted from high-polished solid brass. Its most defining feature is the ingenious mechanical design at the bottom: two overlapping, adjustable louvers that function like an aperture. Using the distinctive, oversized solid brass thumb screws, the louvers can be adjusted continuously and individually. This allows the user to seamlessly transition the fixture from a sleek, closed golden orb providing ambient light to a dramatic, wide-open downward spotlight. True to its original mid-century configuration, the heavy fixture safely suspends from its dedicated steel/white support cord, while the matching power cable runs beautifully parallel to it. A commanding and sophisticated statement piece perfect for a dining area, foyer, or living space. Dimensions: • Height: 100 cm (39.37 inches) — including the original suspension system and cord • Width: 45 cm (17.72 inches) • Depth: 40 cm (15.75 inches) Condition: Good vintage condition. The light fixture retains its completely original suspension system, which remains in robust and fully functional condition. The electrical wiring has been thoroughly inspected and verified by a professional technician, ensuring it is safe and ready for immediate installation. The so
