Painted folk art bridal wardrobe 1846

Exceptional antique bridal wardrobe made of pine dating from 1846. This wardrobe is simply designed but beautifully painted with floral decorations on the panels, while the rest of the wardrobe is finished with a decorative wood motif. Above the doors, the wedding date and initials of the previous owner are painted. This piece is still in neat condition for its age, with only a few old woodworm traces (which have of course been treated). The interior is equipped with three shelves. The wardrobe still has the original working lock with key. In the past, it was customary to give bridal furniture like this as a wedding gift to the couple. These pieces of furniture were later placed on the farm in a show room that was only rarely used for important visitors or special occasions. A beautiful and decorative piece of history. This piece comes from southern Germany (Franconia).
