A distinctive West German ceramic vase designed by Bodo Mans for Bay Keramik, featuring the celebrated “Valencia” décor, produced in West Germany during the 1960s. The vase has a sculptural, slightly waisted form with a flared rim, finished in a matte black ground. The surface is decorated with elongated brushed-beige panels, fine incised organic lines, and irregular raised motifs in blue, green, orange and white. The combination of matte and glossy surfaces and the restrained linear drawing is characteristic of the Valencia décor.
