Hippolyte-edme pretot circa 1830 - napoleon III style cabinet at support height - france, louis XIV period, around 1700 for the marquetry panel - blackened pear wood, amaranth veneer, red tortoiseshell, brass, copper fillets, bronzes gold and black marble. This achievement is characteristic of the production of hippolyte-edme pretot, a parisian cabinetmaker from the napoleon III era, who reused panels from the 17th century to integrate them into structures imitating the models of the grand siècle then very fashionable. In-between furniture, cabinets at support height decorated with reused or imitation panels in boulle marquetry, carved ebony or inlaid hard stones thus came out of his workshops. Stamped pretot, numbered 248 - very good structural rigidity, accident and restorations on the central panel. Unhindered opening and closing of the door, working lock.
