Elegant Napoleon III console table in blackened pear wood, topped with a Carrara marble, adorned with gilded bronze decorations and inlaid with chiselled brass featuring scroll motifs, foliage, flowers, and ribbons. It opens with a framed door, embellished with a beautiful composition of chiselled brass forming ribbons, garlands of flowers, and acanthus leaves surrounding a vase. This is bordered by inlaid brass fillets and a scalloped bronze arch. The door is equipped with an ornate key accompanying the original functioning lock. On each side of this piece, the uprights are fitted with gilded bronze mounts. At the bottom, fluted bronze rods outline the piece in a stepped manner. The entire piece rests on four voluted feet. The upper part of this console is decorated with a floral frieze surrounded by inlaid brass fillets. Above, a white Carrara marble veined with grey is set in and encircled by crafted bronze mouldings. The interior, made of mahogany veneer, features two adjustable shelves on rack supports. ********** Period: Mid 19th century. In perfect condition after restoration in our workshop.
