SD51 Golem Chairs by Vico Magistretti for Poggi, 1960s, Set of 4

The Golem chair, with a high backrest in lacquered wood, was designed by Vico Magistretti as an homage to the Scottish architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh, inspired by an exhibition on his work. The backrest is slightly shaped to provide comfort while seated. This design is a rare case where Magistretti’s reference to the past does not arise from the recovery of anonymous models or historical types. Produced in the 1960s by Poggi in Italy, these chairs are crafted from wood and exhibit a vintage style. They are in very good condition, with wear consistent with age and use.
