The chaise longue designed by Eames for Herman Miller, made from luxurious burgundy leather and adorned with rosewood, exudes opulence and prestige. This armchair is a masterpiece of rosewood craftsmanship; its deep hue captivates the eye and offers endless visual pleasure. The classic black and rosewood colour of this chair, continually refined by Herman Miller, was enhanced with various shades of leather in the late 1960s and early 1970s, giving rise to many exceptional combinations. The quality of the rosewood veneer reached its peak in the late 1980s and early 1990s, with its magnificent grain revealing the full splendour of this precious wood before it became a threatened species. The wood displays a rich colour with only slight signs of age, mainly concentrated on the edges of the veneer, but very few imperfections. The leather is slightly worn and some edges of the cushions are slightly discoloured, but there is no damage, no tears, and no excessive wear, and the colour remains vibrant.
