Here is a very lovely stoneware soup tureen from Puisaye with a charming, well-rounded shape and a beautiful glaze blending soft and comforting tones: beige, caramel, and chocolate, materials and colours typical of the 1970s. It is the result of fine artisanal work in turning and glazing by the ceramist Jean-Pierre Prud’homme in the 1970s. It is indeed signed JP underneath. Without the lid, it can also easily be used as a salad bowl. Jean-Pierre Prud’homme founded a handmade pottery workshop with his wife in 1971 in Monnaie, working with clay from Nièvre (Puisaye stoneware). This workshop still exists today, run by his son Benoît, who took over in the 1990s-2000s and also creates very beautiful ceramics, although very different, of course. This soup tureen dates from the 1970s and is in perfect condition, with no cracks, chips, or even a scratch; it has probably never been used. It measures 27 cm in width including the handles, approximately 21 cm in maximum diameter, 19 cm in height including the lid, and 9 cm in height without the lid. I offer many other ceramics from this ceramist, including plates, cups, dishes, etc.
