Large credenza with eight legs by Paolo Buffa in wood and brass, Italy, 1950s This tall credenza features a long and elegant shape and rests on eight slender legs, almost like high heels — light, refined, and perfectly balanced. The body is made of richly toned wood, in excellent condition, with a subtle curve at the corners and a raised edge on top that gives it the appearance of a classic Riva boat gliding on Lake Como. The front consists of ten vertical black panels, each ribbed and alternating with warm wood strips, adding rhythm and depth to the design. Brass key pulls add a discreet touch of precision. It is a piece that is both graceful and practical, clearly crafted with care — and made to last. Paolo Buffa (1903–1970) was a Milanese architect and designer known for his refined neoclassical furniture. Trained by Gio Ponti, he collaborated with leading artisans like Mario Quarti and exhibited at major events such as the Triennale. His work combined elegance, craftsmanship, and modern comfort, earning him international recognition. Dimensions Width: 268 cm Height: 125 cm
