Sideboard by Arne Vodder in Brazilian rosewood and metal, Denmark, 1960s. Sideboard designed by Arne Vodder, manufactured in Denmark in the 1960s, featuring characteristic tambour doors that slide smoothly into the back panel. This clever construction offers a clean and functional facade—no doors to open, just an elegant movement that disappears into the furniture. The piece is made of rosewood, with a deep hue and lively grain. The craftsmanship is evident in the precision of the joints and the well-finished interior shelves. Even small details, such as the handcrafted handles and the finishing of the inner edges, reflect great care in execution. A playful and modern feature is the set of chrome metal legs. Under each leg is a turned wooden tip, creating a nice contrast of materials and textures. The condition is excellent. No unsightly marks, no odors, and no warping. The back is veneered in rosewood, making the piece suitable for island installation. A serial number is marked under the furniture in the characteristic typography of Arne Vodder, also visible on some of his chairs—a discreet yet revealing attribution. The furniture shows minimal signs of sun exposure, retaining its original hue overall. All tambour panels slide perfectly, and the shelves are clean and intact. A well-preserved example of Danish modernism, both functional and inviting. More videos available upon request, as I can only upload one. Dimensions. Width: 190 cm. Height: 72 cm.
