Rare and very decorative pair of Art Nouveau – Jugendstil armchairs, inspired by the creations of Cugini Lanzani, dating from around 1900. Made of light wood, these armchairs stand out with their high, richly carved backs, topped with three large stylized flowers and framed by a remarkable openwork decoration with curved, plant-like lines typical of Art Nouveau. The armrests, particularly original, also adopt a sinuous and dynamic design that fully contributes to the Jugendstil aesthetic of the whole. The backs, seats, and arm covers are upholstered in a polychrome tapestry with floral and plant motifs, in shades of green, beige, and brown. The contrast between the light wood and the colors of the fabric gives this pair a particularly decorative presence. Beautiful quality of execution and an uncommon model, interesting for both an Art Nouveau collector and for furnishing a characterful interior. Period: Art Nouveau – Jugendstil, around 1900. Model inspired by Cugini Lanzani. Dimensions of each armchair: Height: 115 cm Width: 59 cm Depth: 56 cm. Overall good condition, with normal signs of wear and tear related to age.
