Large sandstone bull, by Dominique Pouchain, 2025

A sculpture in black and brown stoneware, with a dark patina, depicting a generously proportioned bull. In his workshop in Montjoux, nestled between the hills of Dieulefit and the ever-changing light of the Drôme Provençale region, Dominique Pouchain has been crafting a poetic bestiary in ceramic for over forty years. His animal sculptures, recognizable by their stylized lines and intense matte blacks, are now featured in numerous private collections in France and abroad.
