Handmade brass sculpture by Carl Auböck, Optimist Pessimist, model no. 4059.

A beautiful brass figure called optimist/pessimist, model 4059, designed by Carl Auböck in 1957. A very charming object that can be positioned in two ways, as an optimist or a pessimist. Handmade from solid patinated brass by Werkstätte Auböck in Vienna/Austria. Partially polished, fully stamped and marked. It is a handcrafted piece; each piece and finish differ slightly. Small scratches on the surface are a testament to the artisanal production process and should not be considered defects.
