Gio Ponti bedside table in maple and walnut, La Permanente Mobili Cantù, 1940s

A fine and elegant bedside table / nightstand / occasional table, made in Italy in the 1940s and attributed to Gio Ponti / La Permanente Mobili Cantù. The body of the table is made of maple, topped with a glass surface with rounded corners, held by brass fittings. The nightstand features a storage compartment with a hinged door, decorated with a beautiful quartered walnut veneer pattern and a delicate, gracefully curved brass handle. A truly refined piece of furniture, rich in charming details. In very good condition. Width: 57.15 cm, depth: 35.56 cm, height: 55.88 cm.
