Sideboard, painted cabinet from Dalarna, Sweden 1799

A magnificent example of Swedish craftsmanship and folk art from the Dalarna region. This cabinet is beautifully painted in earthy tones, with touches of light and dark blue on almost every surface. Special features include the large stepped cornice dated 1799 and the two almost inconspicuous drawers that lock when the doors are closed. The locks and keys work perfectly.
