Charming covered stoneware fondue pot from Puisaye with a beautiful, slightly pyrite glaze in soft ecru, caramel, and chocolate colors—a material and color scheme typical of the 1970s. A lovely piece for serving a small bowl of soup on a chic country-style table. Beautiful handcrafted work in throwing and glazing by the ceramist Jean-Pierre Prud'homme. This fondue pot is signed JP underneath and is part of a very large Prud'homme set that I found at a flea market (part of which is already for sale here). Jean-Pierre Prud'homme and his wife founded a pottery workshop in 1971 in Monnaie, working with clay from the Nièvre region (Puisaye stoneware). This workshop still exists today (Atelier Au Grès du Vent), run by his son Benoît, who took over in the 1990s and 2000s and also creates very beautiful ceramics. This fondue pot dates from the 1970s and is in perfect condition, with no cracks, chips, or even a scratch; it has probably never been used. The pot measures 17.5 cm in diameter and 23 cm in length including the handle, 7.5 cm in height, and 12 cm in height with the lid.
