Provençal gargoulette made of natural terracotta and yellow glazed with green streaks. It is a traditional object from the Mediterranean basin, particularly widespread in Provence (southern France), Spain, Italy, and North Africa (Tunisia, etc.). The word "gargoulette" comes from the Provençal "galgouleto" (jug). This gargoulette, with its green/brown-yellow glaze on a terracotta background, long tubular spout, and lid, is very typical of the Provençal or southwestern French style (19th-20th century, or more recent artisanal reproduction). These pieces were common in farms and rural kitchens for everyday use. In good condition.
