Rosewood and rosewood marquetry display cabinet, Louis XVI style – first part of the 20th century

Elegant display cabinet in rosewood and mahogany marquetry, this Louis XVI style piece dating from the late 19th century captivates with its refinement and the quality of its cabinetmaking. Its pedestalled top gives it a slender silhouette, while the upper section opens with a glass door fitted with an ornate bronze key and a perfectly functional lock, allowing for the display of precious objects or collections. In the centre, a drawer adorned with two bronze pull rings forming laurel wreaths adds a noble and typically neoclassical decorative touch. The lower part, consisting of two doors with chiselled knobs, opens to a practical storage space. The whole rests on slender tapered legs, and the uprights of the cabinet are enhanced at the top with beautiful bronze mounts, reflecting the attention to detail and the high-end character of this display cabinet.
