This elegant Louis XVI-style display cabinet, crafted from mahogany and veneered rosewood marquetry, opens at the top with a drawer adorned with a superb bronze scrollwork frieze featuring two refined rosette pull knobs. Just below, a double glass door features a butterfly-shaped veneer, adding a touch of symmetry and finesse. These doors are fitted with a functional authentic lock with fillet entries and their key. The central part of the cabinet reveals a large compartment closed by a tilting door, magnificently decorated with a trompe-l'oeil depicting book covers, thus giving the whole a bibliophile charm. In the lower part, two doors, fitted with a Louis XVI entry lock adorned with a ribbon and accompanied by their key, open onto a storage space. These doors are enhanced by a rosewood veneer arranged in a butterfly wing pattern, while the interior offers a fixed shelf. The uprights of the cabinet, with canted sides, are distinguished by a vertical rosewood veneer on a mahogany background and are decorated, in their upper part, with a fluted bronze drop. The feet, also with canted sides, are enhanced with a bronze frame. Finally, the lower crosspiece is subtly decorated with a central bronze trim. Thanks to its finesse, its exceptional manufacturing quality and its small size, this display cabinet combines aesthetics and functionality, integrating perfectly into a refined interior. ******** Period: 2nd part of the 19th century Excellent condition after restoration in our workshop.
