Overview. Elegant early Biedermeier secrétaire with a drop-front writing surface and refined, rectilinear proportions. Materials. Exterior finished in book-matched cherry veneer on softwood with partly ebonized details; interior lined in mahogany veneer; spruce secondary structure and iron fittings. Storage. Interior offers three open compartments and drawers behind the fall-front; one long drawer under the cornice and two large lower drawers with D-box locks for substantial storage. Design. South German, circa 1820 — restrained Neo-Classical / Biedermeier vocabulary with minimal hardware, narrow framing banding and turned slim legs that give an elevated profile. Dimensions.
