Antique Louis Philippe Secretary Desk, 1850

We present you a Louis Philippe secrétaire (secretary desk) from the mid-19th century. This piece features three bottom drawers, a removable board flush with the rest, and a narrow drawer with a concave-convex front beneath the cornice. The entire unit is topped with a flat, recessed add-on structure that includes an additional drawer. The cut corners of the desk are decorated with semi-plastic, turned elements. Inside, there is a storage compartment and two rows of small drawers, providing ample functionality. The stunning graining of the mahogany veneer, known as the pyramid pattern, adds to its decorative appeal. The piece of furniture has not undergone extensive renovation and is in very good condition, with only minor fading of the French polish.
