Léopold Harzé, originally from Liège, was one of the great Belgian sculptors of the late 19th century. In this bas-relief, Harzé presents the imposing silhouette of a woman who is both strong and beautiful. This work is part of the movements of "Realism" and "Naturalism, " which value agriculture and fieldwork. The bronze was cast by the Compagnie des bronzes of Brussels, a foundry renowned for having collaborated with the best Belgian sculptors of the time.
