Sommerso glass vase from veb kunstglas wasungen, east germany, 1970s. Made of blue and transparent glass. Very decorative. Height: 20.5 cm; width (base): 4.5 cm; depth (base): 4.5 cm. Excellent vintage condition. "sommerso" (italian for ''submerged'') is a technique developed in murano (italy) which became very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a clear layer.
