Art Deco vase from the 1930s, signed by the iconic Moser glassworks in Karlovy Vary, made entirely of heavy, faceted crystal. Its vertically elongated, octagonal form is based on clean, sharp edges and precise vertical cuts. The dominant colour is a deep raspberry pink shade, gradually transitioning towards the base into a transparent, cool colourlessness. The surface is highly polished, giving it an intense shine and allowing light to reflect on each precisely cut facet. The modernist proportions and wall thickness emphasise the expressive, decorative silhouette typical of mature Art Deco. The vase is signed and preserved in very good, authentic condition, with no visible signs of use, damage or restoration. The form of this vase carries echoes of interwar Europe – a dialogue between classical geometry and the bold colours of the Art Deco era. Each facet seems to tell the story of light refracted by the movement of the city, and the smooth ombré colours speak of a longing for modernity and the luxury of an evening ball. The cool touch of noble crystal evokes the austerity of modernism, while the intense pink in the mirror shine – the energy of the salons it once graced.
