A Secessionist vase, attributed to the legendary Moser and made at the beginning of the 20th century in Bohemia (now Karlovy Vary), is an example of refined glass art at the turn of the eras. It is made of crystal-clear uranium glass in a cool, transparent turquoise shade – characteristic luminous reflections and a subtle, almost phosphorescent glow become a distinctive feature of the vase, especially visible in the thicker parts of the glass. The slender, polygonal body with precise, vertical facets transitions into an octagonal base, emphasizing strict, geometric discipline. The front features an impressive floral ornament – deeply cut, stylized iris or lily flower with flowing leaves, harmoniously blending with the transparent structure of the vase. The contrast of matte and shiny surfaces creates a dynamic play of light and shadow on the straight-cut, clean edges. The material is massive, with perfect transparency and no visible damage or losses. The vase is in very good condition, with only slight signs of use confirming its authenticity and noble origin. The vase carries the narrative of Art Nouveau – a time when the pursuit of the synthesis of art and nature permeated even the most everyday forms. Its slender, transparent walls speak of the subtle lightness of early modernism, and the play of light – both daylight and that which triggers uranium luminescence – seems to be an almost poetic reminiscence of dawn in old Central European studios. The deeply engraved ornament looks like an ephemeral shadow of flowers reflected on water, and the proportions of the form reveal the craftsman's mastery – here every detail serves a calm dialogue between geometry and organicity. The vase works well as a soloist placed on a walnut veneer console, accompanied by graphite mirrors or against a matte, olive wall.
