The lamp consists of a transparent plexiglass frame covered with nylon thread. The nylon forms a sort of geometric spider web around the frame. When the lamp is turned on, it creates a very particular play of light, shadow, and transparency. Height: 68 cm. Diameter: 30 cm. Height of the lampshade: 35 cm. Origin: Germany, 1960s. Material: plexiglass, nylon thread. Paul Secon (1916–2007) designed different versions of this type of lamp for Sompex, resulting in multiple shapes and versions. Sompex was a German company founded in 1948 that initially focused, among other things, on importing Scandinavian design. The company moved to Düsseldorf in 1950 and specialised in lighting.
