A beautiful pendant light by designer Gaetano Sciolari for Mazzega. Produced in the 1970s, this Space Age pendant is made of chromed metal and Murano glass known as "caramel." The tulip-shaped shade, resembling a flower, is made of white and orange tinted glass. In excellent condition, the pendant is wired and fully functional. It uses a bayonet bulb (not included). Gaetano Sciolari (1927–1994) was an Italian lighting designer. Sciolari's creations all blend avant-garde formal research with geometric inspirations. They always remain imbued with elegance and sophistication. Sciolari frequently plays with the repetition of motifs and accentuates his formal interplay through a selection of characteristic materials such as brass, chrome, and copper, often used in alternation with the transparency and lightness of glass. The Mazzega 1946 company is located in Murano (Venice). It produces glass lamps with a frequently minimalist design. Craftsmanship and a rigorous choice of materials make Mazzega's production an emblem of "Made in Italy".
