Late 19th century oak laundry chest

A Poitevin linen chest in solid oak, handcrafted in the late 19th century. This chest rests on four square feet. The top opens to reveal a candle or jewelry box on the right side, which, when opened, securely holds the top open. The hinged front is adorned with beautiful ironwork and its original, non-functional key. The warm tones and wood grain highlight a rich patina and tell a beautiful story of craftsmanship.
