Antique folk art pine chest – Central Europe (c. 1900–1920)

Antique folk art chest made of painted pine wood, dated from the early 20th century, circa 1900–1920, originating from Central Europe. This type of folk art chest from Central Europe was part of traditional domestic furniture and was used to store clothes, textiles, and personal belongings in rural households. The piece is made of solid pine wood with visible dovetail joints, a common technique in European rural furniture from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The front retains traces of hand-painted floral decoration in reddish tones on a dark background.
