Black Orient Pendant Lamp by Jo Hammerborg Denmark

The Orient pendant lamp was designed by Jo Hammerborg for Fog Mørup in 1963 and reissued in 2013 by Fritz Hansen in collaboration with the Hammerborg family. This version is Thrill Minor, made from black lacquered aluminum with a white painted interior to maximize light. The lamp has a wood plate that supports the curve of the teardrop-shaped pendant to its tip. The lampshade features multiple narrow slots through which light spills out. The shape of the shade conceals the bulb and prevents glare. It provides warm and cozy light, suitable for many rooms. Over the years, Orient has become a true design classic, ideal for single or group hangings. Jo Hammerborg was a renowned Danish designer known for his talent in lighting design, and his works are highly sought after for their simple elegance and functionality.
