Black Orient pendant lamp by Jo Hammerborg Denmark

The Orient pendant lamp was designed by Jo Hammerborg for Fog Mørup in 1963 and reissued in 2013 by Fritz Hansen in collaboration with the Hammerborg family. This version is Thrill Minor, made of black lacquered aluminium with a white-painted interior to maximise light. The lamp features a wooden plate that supports the curve of the drop-shaped pendant to its tip. The shade has several narrow slits through which light escapes. The shape of the shade conceals the bulb and prevents glare. It provides a warm and comfortable light, suitable for many rooms. Over the years, the Orient has become a true design classic, ideal for individual or grouped suspensions. Jo Hammerborg was a renowned Danish designer, known for his talent in lighting design, and his works are highly sought after for their simple elegance and functionality.
