Eames Loose Cushion EC176 Chair Herman Miller 1970s

Rare Eames EC176 'Loose Cushion' armchair, designed by Charles & Ray Eames for Herman Miller and introduced in 1971. The model is also frequently referred to as the EA178 or EC178. This example features the less commonly encountered tilt-swivel configuration with height adjustment, mounted on the cast aluminium Eames Universal Base with glides. The off-white fiberglass shell with black edge trim has recently been reupholstered in a warm brown-beige mélange fabric, including the removable loose seat cushion from which the model takes its name. In good vintage condition with signs of use consistent with age. Retains its original Herman Miller label. Collectors item.
